Success and Laziness are Incompatible!

“But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” John 5:17

Success and laziness are like oil and water – they simply don’t mix. Proverbs 13:4 states, “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.” This verse exemplifies how success and laziness are incompatible. Laziness is often a result of procrastination, lack of discipline, and an unwillingness to put in the necessary effort. On the other hand, success requires dedication, hard work, perseverance, and consistency – all qualities that are completely opposite of laziness, like trying to light a fire with ice.

Success cannot be achieved without effort. It is important to understand that success does not come overnight; it takes time and effort. Laziness can lead to missed opportunities or poor results. As individuals become lazy in their work ethic, they begin to lose focus on their goals. They may become complacent with their current situation instead of striving for something better. In order to achieve success, one must be willing to put forth consistent hard work over time.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.”

The path to success is tough, but it is also the most rewarding journey you can take in life, but you have to ditch the lure of complacency and answer the call. Even though most of us are attracted to the idea of complacency because it’s comfortable, safe, and predictable. However, when we choose comfort over growth and development, we’re settling for a mediocre life. Remember, trying to achieve success while being lazy is like trying to run a marathon with lead weights tied to your ankles.

However, success demands that we step out of our comfort zones and answer the call to greatness. It’s not about being perfect or never making mistakes; rather, it’s about having a positive mindset that allows us to learn from our failures and keep moving forward. When we embrace challenges rather than shy away from them, we demonstrate the courage and resilience that propels us toward success. So, leave your comfort zone behind to achieve that greatness. Amen. Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.” Amen.

Prayer:
1. Jesus Christ, thank you for this wonderful opportunity to be my mentor.
2. I refuse to let my song become a lamentation of failure in my life. I will not allow myself to be distracted by the things of the past in Jesus’ name. Amen.
