Are You in Love?

Are You in Love?

“Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13.

Love does not come with envy or boast; arrogant or rude as 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 explained it. A package of sacrifice comes with loving someone, which might not always be what we think it will be. Shakespeare elaborates love through Romeo’s and Juliet’s passionate love; even when the family was in a feud with hatred, stronger love holds everything together. Greater love is a strong bond that binds people to each other, making them feel safe and secure.

However, everyone professes love for one another. The word “love” seems to characterize our relationship with every object, animate and even the inanimate, and there is no limitation to its use among people around the world. Both believers and unbelievers confess the love to one another but do you know that the love between the Father and the children is far more different from that of siblings. In this way, we can say that God loves us unconditionally.

1 John 3:1 says, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so, we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”

But do you remember that one man loved us the same and came for our redemption? That redemption was initiated in love, kept in love, executed in love, and the love is now being shed abroad in our hearts. We need to come to comprehend the love that Christ showed to the world, remembering that from every single one of them, Christ died for.

Can you take a step today to show greater love to someone around you who has not known this love and felt they don’t deserve the love? Take the step to show this love within your community that they may experience the pure love that their life truly needs more than the comfort of a companion in the life journey. We need to show the world that Christ has shown a greater level of love for them, no matter the level of love demonstrated to them. Romans 5:8 says, “But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Prayer:
1. I appreciate the greater love that God has shown me. I am thankful for his grace and mercy
2. Today, I am awoken to spread the good news of your love to the community I find myself in.
3. Lord Jesus, I give myself away, therefore Use me to help others.
