Avoid Decision Fatigue! Part Two

“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just because I seek not my will but the will of him who sent me.” John 5:30

Many people believe that their choices in life determine their past outcomes. This is especially true for career paths and what kind of person they have been trying to be or want to be. However, this is only part of your destiny. The other part is largely determined by the choices you make today. This can be difficult to accept, but it is true because your past may have too many rough drafts; but remember that your future is still clean. Therefore, you have the power to make it right from now!

In John 5:30, Jesus says, “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just because I seek not my own will but the will of God who sent me.” In other words, when it comes to decision-making, humans must rely on God to act justly. We should seek God’s guidance when making decisions because His will is always best. If we try to make decisions based on our desires, our judgments will be skewed and not as good instead of what God wants. But if we allow Him to guide us, our decisions will be just and right.

Proverbs 16:33 says, “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.”

When it comes to making decisions, most of us rely on our judgment and intuition. But is that always the best course of action? Another way people make decisions at times is through lot casting. This simply means that it is up to fate or luck, whatever decision is made. However, as Proverbs 16:33 has explained, every decision is still from the Lord, whether you cast a lot or not. This means that God controls every decision, big or small. We may think that we are making our own decisions, but ultimately, it’s up to God what happens.

God is the one who guides our steps. We can trust Him to direct our paths, even in the small decisions of life. Jesus said, “All things are possible for you who believe” (Mark 9:23). This means that no matter what decision we face in life if we believe that God will guide us through it, all things are possible. When we trust God and allow Him to guide us, we can be sure that we’re making the right decisions for our lives and avoid decision fatigue. Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”

Prayer:
1. Psalm 25:4 My father, my father, make me know your ways and teach me your paths so that I may walk in them.
2. Blood of Jesus, wipe away every past decision I have made that resulted in loss or failure in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
