Counselor and His Advice!

The Counselor and His Advice!

“How have you counseled one who has no wisdom? And how have you declared sound advice to many?” Job 26:3

The old and new testament in the Bible talks about counseling and how it should be done when there is a need, and what to say when counseling. The key scripture is asking a question and at the same time, encouraging us as light-bearers, as someone peoples can trust. This is why we are called to help others with wisdom, especially those who are struggling with a problem or situation.

A counselor is always there to offer helpful advice, just as Paul did when Timothy had clashes with the elders of the church. 1 Timothy 5: 1-2 Paul said, “Do not rebuke an older man but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.”

Do you counsel people with the words of encouragement as someone with the word of Christ? Or you condemn people in the context of advising them like Bildad, Eliphaz, and Zophar did to the man named Job when he is in distress and pains (Job 8:2-5). As ambassadors of Christ, you are to help people finding their way through life.

You have to impact people with truth to God’s word through Christ in you until their life has a turning point. If we are to call ourselves Christ ambassadors on earth, then we should be able to impact sound wisdom to someone that doesn’t have it. And “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16.

Prayer:
1. Heavenly Father, I thank you for the wisdom and guidance.
2. Oh! Lord, help me to be able to walk in the path of wisdom in Jesus’ name.
