Do not be a Slave to Sin!

Do not be a Slave to Sin!

“We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ, we were set free from the power of sin.” Romans 6:6-7

The earth was systematically and divinely created. God made all things and put everything in place; in a specific order. And one of the recurring orders is the place of a master and a servant. In the world system, everyone who stands as a master takes responsibility for their servant or follower. The follower takes instructions from the master and executes the given order.

Interestingly, we found the same method in the kingdom of God. Jesus is our shepherd (master), and we believers are the sheep (follower). And we shouldn’t forget that there is a deceiver who distracts people with sin and makes them a slave. And until the human being is dead to such sinfulness, they can’t serve the rightful master with righteousness.

Romans 6:16 says, “Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or obedience leading to righteousness?”

We must be deliberate not to answer the devil and only answer the rightful master Jesus alone because nobody serves two masters and love both of them equally in this life; you either forsake one. Apostle Paul proclaimed that the life he lived was the life of Christ (Galatians 2:20). In order words, he was dead to his flesh, and then he picked the life of Christ.

The existential state of humankind is in two ways; they must be dead to self and serve the Spirit of God or refuse to yield to the Holy Spirit and be enslaved by sin. Now, don’t be ignorant; the flesh doesn’t yield any profit; only the Spirit gives life and peace. Whom would you choose to serve? The flesh, which is a total means to death, or the Spirit, which gives life and peace? I urge you to choose wisely. Romans 8:6 says, “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

Prayer:
1. Father, I pray for a life full of God and Satisfaction in the Love of Christ Jesus.
2. James 1:15; By the precious blood of Jesus, I refused to conceive the devil’s will in Jesus’ name. Amen
