Extra Oil! 4

Extra Oil! 4

“But the wise ones took oil in flasks along with their lamps.” Matthew 25:4

Today’s scripture seems broad enough for us to apply to our own lives. We can use it in a variety of situations, from our personal life to work or school. That is why Jesus gave us this scripture to help us understand how to live our lives. We need to know what we are doing wrong and how God wants us to do better because if we don’t give our best effort, we will never get the results God desires.

Every time you add diligence to your daily routine, you will be rewarded with more success. It means you take extra oil with your lamp to ensure that you have a good day ahead. When you do things, approach them with all diligence such that it will be unique. As an entrepreneur, the way you communicate and treat your clients should be top-notch, and that’s the extra oil that can boost your sales. As a professional, what are the things that you should do that distinguish you from your colleagues?

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Perhaps, you’re asked to make a short presentation at work. You gathered sufficient online and offline information supported with facts and figures, which were formatted together to give a nice and detailed presentation. Everyone will reckon at your diligence, and that’s an extra oil that you have added. As a student, you don’t relax when it’s time to study and take action. You are always searching to know more even when others are satisfied, but your result will reveal who you are and what you have gotten that’s extraordinary.

It would be best if you didn’t always stop where everyone had finished. Not only that, but you must ask God for more grace and strength to do things better every time you are assigned to some tasks. God has created everyone to accomplish the task at hand, but some people lack diligence (extra oil) when it comes to doing something better than before; therefore, He shifts His attention to those ready or willing to do it. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people’s sake.”

Prayers
1. Dear Lord, release upon me the grace, strength, and power to do things better and more appreciable in Jesus’ name.
2. Proverbs 16:3; Oh Lord, I commit my work and plans into your hands, come and established them in Jesus’ name. Amen.
