From the Hand of God!

From the Hand of God!

There is nothing better for a person than eating and drinking and finding enjoyment in their toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God. Ecclesiastes 2:24.

The preacher of all time admonishes us in this passage to appreciate and enjoy the good in our effort. Everyone who works hard should be able to experience goodness and enjoyment from their effort since living merely for the sake of acquiring riches is foolishness. If you have enough in life to make it worth your while, then don’t waste your time to enjoy life and pass the time in a leisurely manner without concern. Let the truth be told; the work should not be our preoccupation.

We should always strive to live with purpose and passion. However, that passion and purpose come through only when we are willing to balance the demands of our lives with work and enjoy our effort as much as possible. We must realize that contentment brings enjoyment without pressure because it does not come from having more money but from being content with what we have. If we are to live a life of contentment, then we must first realize that God made everything beautiful in its time.

Romans 11:33 says, “O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!”

Remember, all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His plan (Romans 8:28). Proverbs 2:6 says, “For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” In other words, for the one who is pleasant in His sight, He provides wisdom, understanding, and joy, but to the sinner, He assigns the duty of gathering and amassing to offer to the one who is pleasing in God’s sight. Therefore, seeing God in what you have, not in things you don’t have, because what you don’t have will make you lose faith in God.

You will never know what you have until you take time off from your workaholic routine and experience the joy that comes from work. Working compulsively to be rich should not be the aim of our lives to obtain riches since the Lord provides one power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). Moreover, life is in vain if the main reason for existence is to obtain money and not everlasting life; that which brings God’s presence into our lives to produce peace, purpose, power, and preserved soul. “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world and yet lose or forfeit their very self?” Luke 9:25

Prayer
Dear Lord, pardon me for being self-centered towards the money you have provided unto me; I make an oath to earn wealth for the eternal purpose and not for worldly purpose in the name of Jesus. Amen
