Gratitude: An Expression of Grace! 2

“I will give the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Highest.” Psalm 7:17

Every time you breathe, wake up, eat, drink or even sleep, you have to check your attitude to make sure it thanks God for every blessing you receive. I know some of us don’t check our attitude if it does express that gratitude. But, don’t forget that gratitude is a way of living that encourages us to live every moment with thankfulness and appreciation for what we have in life. Whether big or small, it is important to be thankful for what you have because it will give you a sense of purpose and meaning in your life.

Gratitude is a powerful tool that can help you see the world and your status through a different lens. The more you practice gratitude, the better it will become. When you are grateful for something, it becomes easier to appreciate your current status and knows that God is still in charge of your life. It is easy to get caught up in the negative thoughts and feelings that come from what you don’t have and not appreciate the best in you.

Ephesians 5:20 says, “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

It is easy to lose sight of the good thing about you when you always complain about things that don’t matter. A man with an ungrateful heart will never appreciate the little until he sees someone who does not have the same because he doesn’t understand his worth. When you are ungrateful, it means you are giving yourself away because a lack of appreciation can make self-worth become depreciate.

Are you thankful for the blessings of God in your life? If the answer is no, then you need to change your attitude. Remember, being grateful means accepting what you have and appreciating all that is given to you. It will lead your mind towards positive thinking and will help you to see the good in everything. Be grateful for everything that you have, even if it’s small or big. “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

Prayer:
1. O God almighty, thank you for your mercy and grace when I struggle with my faith.
2. Help me, O Lord, to internalize and voice the feeling of gratitude daily in Jesus’ name.
