Hard Times and Good Times!

Hard Times and Good Times!

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy of being compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18

The book of Romans is written by a man who has suffered and gone through a lot for the sake of the gospel. At times, I question myself on why apostle Paul was willing and able to endure such great persecutions and revilement. Though He believed that God’s grace would save him from his troubles, yet as a human being, we cannot help but think about how much more difficult it would have been if he hadn’t.

‘Tough time don’t last.’ 2 Corinthian 4:17 says, “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”. This means, for anyone that desires greatness, he or she should be ready to pass through hard times. Nothing comes cheap when it comes to success because ‘no glory without a story.

Despite all these persecutions, sufferings, revilement, hunger strike, imprisonments, long-suffering, kindness, genuine love, the word of truth, and so on. Apostle Paul was still confident that they are not worthy of being compared to the glory which shall be revealed in us. We need to think biblically about suffering so that we will grow through it rather than being destroyed by it. I am not saying you should ignore your emotions or the pain you are experiencing, but you need to look at the bigger picture of what will be your reward.

God has promised it, and He cannot lie about the inheritance He has prepared for us when we follow his will. So whatever your situation is, don’t let it stop you from doing the work of righteousness because the reward is coming. Do not allow anything to separate you from the love of God. That’s why the scripture said that “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrew 12:2

Prayer:
Rise in faith and claim this scripture to yourself that “nothing shall separate me from the love of Christ.” Romans 8: 35-39
