How Your Choices Define You!

“How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get an understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” Proverbs 16:16

Choosing to do something, or not doing something, has a profound impact on our lives. It can define who we are and what we stand for. What choices have you made in your life that have had the biggest impact? Which ones continue to have the most influence over how you live your life today? Freedom of choice is a great asset that God has given us. He has given us the ability to choose what we want out of life with a great explanation from the Bible.

It is always important to be mindful of the choices we make in life because they have a lasting impact. Proverbs 16:16 says, “How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get an understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” In other words, wisdom is better than any other material possession. It is also better than being intelligent because understanding leads to good choices.

Ecclesiastes 7:12 says, “For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom gives life to them that have it.”

Your choices are what make you unique and interesting. The things you choose to do, the people you choose to associate with, and the paths you choose to take all contribute to who you are. Some people might choose to spend their lives following the paths set out for them by their families or cultures. Others might choose to blaze their own trails, forging their own unique paths in life. No matter which path you choose, it will define you.

The things you choose to do can be as simple as what you eat for breakfast or as complex as the career you choose. Every choice you make has an impact on who you are. Your choices also define the people you associate with. The friends you choose to have, the people you choose to date, and the association you choose to join all say something about you. Making good choices is important because it leads to a good life. It also leads to happiness. As the saying goes, “great choice, happy life.” When we make good choices, we set the tone for our lives and those around us. Proverbs 8:19 says, “My fruit is better than gold, pure gold, and my harvest surpasses choice silver.”

Prayer:
1. Oh! Lord, I thank you for allowing me to be alive.
2. In the name of Jesus, help me to make the right choices to fulfill my destiny.
