Jesus, Our Righteousness!

Jesus, Our Righteousness!

“For he has made him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5.21

Nothing has hindered human’s relationship to God more than the sin of consciousness. It is the reason why an unbeliever believes their sins are too grievous to be forgiven by God. It’s why believers question their stand before God; if he/she is genuinely forgiven or affirms, they need to show penance for sins before they are ignored.

For some, it’s why they will hold back on the gifting of God in their life because somewhere in their minds, they still feel they are not worthy of all that God has done; but this ought not to be so. Our job is to repent of our sins and believed according to God’s word. Our salvation is based on Christ’s grace that we have been saved through faith. Therefore, don’t get caught up in thinking you’re unworthy of God’s love.

Many texts of the scripture affirm the forgiveness God has given us, and you must be abreast of the same. Psalms 103:3,12 ‘Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.’, Hosea 7.18,19 ‘Who is a God like unto you, who pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retains not his anger forever because He delights in mercy. He will turn again; He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities, and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.’,

Hebrews 8:11 ‘For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.’, 2 Corinthians 5.19 ‘That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.’, etc. Perhaps none says it better than Isaiah 53:6,10 says, “we are like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his way, and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin.”
