Know Your Assignment!

Know Your Assignment!

“God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of Bnhealing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.” 1 Corinthians 12:28

Knowing your duty is the first step to the accomplishment of your task. It is a good idea to have a clear understanding of what you are called to do and the responsibilities that come with it. It also provides a great way to understand the legal standpoint of rules and regulations you are obligated to obey. Even though we are all called to obey all laws, certain things differentiate our callings or positions on certain issues from others.

For example, Moses’s assignment differs from Joshua’s assignment, though they were both leaders of God’s people. So, likewise, there are various offices in the body of Christ to which we can carry out the assignment of winning soul. (1 Cor 12: 4–11). Of course, all assignments may lead to the same outcome, but there are many ways to accomplish a task more effectively than doing it the same as others.

Acts 9:15 says, “the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man (Paul) is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and Israel’s people.

Apostle Paul was directed to the gentiles, but in Acts 18:6, when he tried to minister to the Jews, nobody listened to him; he was even insulted. So likewise, many people are doing the right thing but in the wrong place. They act towards their calling or assignment but have no promotion or recognition because they act contrary to God’s commands.

Don’t let me deceived you; Christians stay long in the wilderness when they don’t know the assignment God has given them in the career they desire; that is where the place of constant fellowship comes to play. It is where the moral compass and authority come into play. Jesus and John played their roles as God called them to do. John 1:15 says, “John testified concerning Jesus. He cried out, saying, “This is He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.”

Prayer;
1. Oh Lord, help me to know my role in your kingdom.
2. Father, let the manifestation of the spirit for the assignment you have given me be made known.
3. I receive grace to know my bearing in the body of Christ and also in my career in Christ’s name. Amen
