Open Doors! 3

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

Some need the door of greatness to be open so that they can enter, while some need the door of limitation to be open so that they can come out and experience the fullness of God’s love. But, brethren, it does not matter which one you aspire to or what your circumstances are; the door of greatness is yours in Jesus’ name. It is yours to walk into God’s abundance of grace and mercy. It is yours to walk into God’s abundant joy with all its gifts, all its blessings, all the riches of life.

As we discussed in previous devotion that keys are necessary to open doors to God’s goodness, let us continue to consider how these doors could be opened for us. So, another way to unlock some of this door is through the prayer of faith. I know you have heard this before that “prayer is the master key to unlocking the door of greatness.” Even in today’s scripture, we are reminded of the power of prayer. Jesus uses this illustration to show how we can use our faith to unlock the door of greatness (Matthew 7:7-8).

Psalm 145:18-19 says, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.”

The act of praying in Christendom cannot be overlooked if we are to experience God’s intervention. There was an account of another instance where prison doors opened on their own accord. Peter was locked up in prison, and he needed to come out, which could only be through an open door. Peter got this open door due to the effectual fervent prayers of the saint for him. So when we pray, we make our request known to God, rent our hearts and seek His intervention.

Prayers are channels through which we communicate issues on our minds to God. The Bible assured us to ask, and we shall receive it; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. When we experience closed doors, we are expected to knock with our prayers, and the door will become opened. Stay strong, don’t be frightened when you encounter closed doors. Be assured that they will begin once you pray about it. As you pray, every close door before you will begin to open in Jesus’ name. John 14:14 says, “If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
