Open to God’s New Work in Your Life! Part Two

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3.

We cannot know what God’s new thing will be, but we can trust that He will do something wonderful. Whatever it is, let us be open to it and let us rejoice in its possibilities. When we look at the blood of Jesus, the cross and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ go beyond forgiveness of sin. They are symbols of God’s power over sin and His desire to transform us into His image. The blood redeems us from our sins, bringing us new life in Christ.

The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross surpasses forgiveness and redemption. These three events have the power to transform us from the inside out. The New Testament teaches that when we come to faith in Christ, His blood saves us from our sins (1 John 1:7), and His death sets us free from our bondage to corruption (Romans 6:23). But His resurrection also changes us from the inside out so that we can live for eternity in His presence. Everything about Christ is to transform us.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Through faith in Christ, we are transformed into new creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17-21), becoming partakers of His divine nature (2 Corinthians 3:18). When we think about the cross, death, and resurrection in this way, we can start to see that God’s provision for redemption is more than just forgiving sins. It’s about total transformation. And this is where Jesus comes in. Jesus not only forgives sin but also gives us power over it.

Jesus doesn’t just forgive us and leave us the same. He transforms us, and it makes us completely new. This is the power of Christ – the power to forgive and to transform. This is the power that we need to overcome the evil in the world. This is the power that we need to live in the light of the resurrection. As we continue to trust in Him, He will surprise us with new things, help us live a life filled with meaning, and make everything work together for our good. Amen. Galatians 6:16 says, “Peace and mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of God.”

Prayer:
1. Father, I thank you for your grace and mercy.
2. Oh Lord, root new things in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
