“Accept other believers whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on their opinions.” Romans 14:1

It is better to live with a heart full of mercy than with a heart filled with wrath and overconfidence with pride. It is better to live with a heart full of love than with an attitude filled with anger and resentment. The world is a cruel place, but God’s justice will always be right. He has given us the ability to forgive and forget so that we can move forward.

Brethren, when we look at the relationship between Jesus and Matthew at the beginning, the question most of us would ask is, “What is the implication of Jesus eating with sinners?” Though we might complain about Jesus and despised the tax collectors as the scribes and the Pharisees did, but Jesus’s action is not to compromised with the sinner. Instead, he was willing to do whatever it takes for people to repent of their sins.

Romans 15:1 says, “We who are strong ought to bear with the shortcomings of the weak and not to please ourselves.”

Jesus overlooks the legalistic system of attaining righteousness by doing things contrary to the tradition, cultural norms, or moral beliefs of the Jewish in other to saves sinner’s souls. This is a critical point because if you want to save someone from sin, you must be able to do something that will show them the unconditional love of God instead of bragging about your reputation.

Jesus touches the untouchable because “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” John 3:17. Likewise, God did not create us to condemn the world but to spread the love of God through the gospel. Therefore, let’s touch life by touching the untouchable because soul and destiny are at stake. Romans 15:7 says, “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, to bring glory to God.”

Prayer:
1. Thank you, Jesus, for the Excess love you have shown my family and me.
2. Father, I thank you for your righteousness, I do not hold on to any righteousness of my self but you.
