Spiritual Discipline!

Spiritual Discipline!

“Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.” 1 Timothy 4:15

There’s a measure of training you must take on within the doing of your character, solely to build some habits in you to make your character refined. Spiritual discipline helps to adjust and shape your life till Christ makes the most of it. Character is the totality of our habits.

Hence, we can’t claim to be kind unless we are habitually kind, a standpoint where we show kindness without even thinking about it just as you can’t claim to have integrity unless it’s your habit always to be honest. If you’re faithful most of the time, you’re still not faithful at all. Faithfulness must be your all-time habit to be called faithful.

To be Christ-like or true Christians, we need to develop a robust spiritual pattern. This requires that we consistently and accurately practice them. Of course, there are no instant habits. If you have been unfaithful to your partner for long, you can repent one day, but to become faithful will require you to practice it every day till the faithfulness becomes your habit. Every new habit takes time for you to develop, but you’ll need to make sure that you don’t get caught up in the past.

However, the word of God is our guide, and we must do all it says accurately to guide our spirituality. We can’t take a break, or else it will become an unbreakable chain. If genuinely want to become like Christ, by consistently being honest, faithful, dedicated, committed, disciplined, and our lives will gain mastery over them. Through Him, transformation is possible, and we will be like Christ. John 15:8 says, “This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.”

Prayer:
1. I receive the grace to be consistent in your ways of life.
2. Psalm 34:7; LORD, let your angels encamp round about my mind to deliver and defend it from all forms of oppression, unfaithfulness, and indiscipline in the name of Jesus Christ.
