Distraction has become a thief. He has stolen away our time, money, and attention. He has taken away people’s joy and happiness. Distraction has robbed people of their promotion to the highest office. He robbed people of their marital status. When a couple becomes distracted by the desire of flesh and lust, their marriage will become dissatisfied.

Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.”

Distraction is not only an enemy but also one of our greatest enemies, and greatest destroyer to the soul. When we are distracted, we lose sight of God’s Word and his promises to us. We take the word of God for granted but don’t realize that it is actually the very thing that brings us joy. When we are distracted, our attention is diverted from God’s Word and daily responsibility.

Jesus fights off the tempter the devil; he fought off the distractor the destiny waster and the thief. He fights against Satan in every way possible, and always wins! What about you? Are you ready to get rid of the thing that keeps you distracted from achieving your goals? If so, “submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7.

The Bible said, the tempter came to Jesus and said to him turn stone to bread. Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone but on the word of God. The tempter asked him the second time to throw himself down from the mountain top; Jesus replied to him, ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ and the third time, the devil asked him to bow down and worship him.

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. Matthew 4:1-11.

Prayer:
1. Jesus, I thank you for the wonderful opportunity to enjoy eternity and fellowship with my father in heaven.
2. Oh! Lord, I prayed, help me to be faithful in your word, in prayer and thanksgiving to you in Jesus name.
3. I refused to give in to temptation and sin; I refused to give up my birthright for the things of the world in Jesus’ name. Amen
