Take Care of the body!

Take care of the body!

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.” 1 Corinthians 6:19

To present the best of you to worship God, you must take care of yourself with love and respect. When you neglect your bodies, you lose them for good. The scripture says your body is the temple of God, do you understand what that means? In order words, God has a place He lives in you. The best way to view this is with our imagination. If God will have to leave in a house, how beautiful would it be? I know how I would keep my house when I’m anticipating for a guest. How much more if God would visit?

Typically, our body is where God lives; He comes into us to speak to us, to guide us, to lead us, and to commune with us. How mutual and how long He stays depends on how hospitable our temple is. Any temple the Lord will dwell in will first be Holy and pure, must be swept and arranged daily, among all. In James 4:5says, “Or do you think the Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to dwell in us yearns with envy?” Spirit of God becomes Jealous over our body when we bring him leftover of our body.

Our body must be sanctified daily if we genuinely want to keep our relationship with God. We have to sweep away all sinful and negative thought away with the word of God. This has to be done daily and consistently.

Taking care of our body goes beyond making room for the spirit being. Our physical body must be well managed. Our voice, our hand, leg, and to our life are all useful to the kingdom of God. As a believer who worships God with the strings, or sings, mismanaging or making unnecessary noise could result in a cracked voice. And in as much as you will use the anointing for our body, excellence should be an added advantage.

Our body will glorify God when we take care of it; regardless, we will be able to serve Him with the whole of our body accurately. You whole part will be filled with love and joy when you presented it as a living sacrifice to God. Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Prayer:
1. Thank you, Jesus, for all you do, for your spirit that made me and your breath that gave me life.
2. Help me to worship You with the whole of me, including my body.
3. I refused to give God my leftover of me and my heart. Therefore Lord gives me the strength to present the best of me.
