The Humble Mind! 5

“The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.” Proverbs 15:33

If a humble beginning gives honor and praise, while can’t we continue in the same manner? If humility gives Jesus everything and all that he is, then why does it seem to us that we should be so arrogant and full of pride? Christ’s lifestyle has been a great blessing for everyone who allows Christ to live in them. When we live with humility, God’s love for us will be more generous, and our hearts will testify.

Christ, in every genuine believer’s mind, has always been a source of joy and peace when we apply humility. To have the same mindset as Jesus Christ, we need to be humble. Being equal with God, Jesus Christ did not strife to claim equality with God or hold on to such. Instead, He took on the form of a servant and came in the likeness of men. “And been found in the appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:7-8).

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” James 4:10

We can see from the scriptures that Jesus is the ultimate example of humility. He did not place value on His self-importance or honor but freely submitted Himself to God for God’s will to be done, and God’s name glorified through His life. Can God trust you enough to do be humble if He entrusted lives into your hands? Whatever answer you give to this question, it is essential to remember that humility exalts you above all others. It exposes you to know the secret things about the kingdom blessing, honor, and life. (Proverbs 22:4)

Jesus’s humble mind made God highly exalt His name above all (Philippians 2:9-10). If we have the same mind of humility as Jesus Christ, forsaking our reputation and honor to obey God’s word and will, we will be able to make unbelievable progress and attain an unimaginable height in our Christian lives. God pays very close attention to those with a humble mind, and He is always ready to give strength to those who desire to live a life that will glorify His name (Isaiah 66:1-2). Matthew 23:12 says, “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

Prayer:
1. My God, thank you for your faithfulness and your steadfast love towards me.
2. I am thankful for the blessings of your grace and mercy, which have been given to me by Jesus Christ.
3. Holy Spirit, help me become more like Christ and live according to the truth of God’s Word.
