The Mobile Temple of God!

“Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.

The metaphor here is gotten from the Old Testament; the ark of the covenant represented God’s presence amidst the children of Israel, though God does not literally dwell in the temple made with hands. We can also conclude that it is not in God’s plan for man to build a physical temple for God. Neither did when Jesus came, and he did not establish a church, he does not even have a place to lay his head.

In Mathew 8:20, Jesus said, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.” Jesus is a mobile man; even when he wants to pray, he will go somewhere solitary and not a well-furnished place. Therefore, right from ages past, God does not dwell in the physical temple, he lives in us (Isiah 57:15).

We are on this earth as mobile temples to host God and channel His spirit inside us, bringing forth light into every crooked and dark part of this world. The spirit of God in us makes us durable, but we can be self-destructible as a result of the things that have access, we have access to through our decision.

Everyone has been giving the charge to stand as a priest over the temple of God, but if not guarded with diligence for God, it may be occupied by Satan. Living a life outside purity and holiness can lead to the destruction of God’s temple and the longer it takes, the extent of the deadlines of the spirit of the God inside you. Therefore, be careful about what you allow dwelling within you. Psalm 93:5 says, “Your decisions are firm, and your temple will always be beautiful and holy all the days to come.”

O Lord, if there is any way, I have defiled your temple forgive me, Lord, in Christ’s name. Amen!
