The Power in the Name of Jesus! 2

But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk!” Acts 3:6

There was this story in Act chapter 3 where a certain man lame from his mother’s womb, who was being carried to the temple gate called beautiful gate so he could beg from the people going into the temple. He had been begging for money at the gate of the temple when he was surrounded by a group of powerful-looking men who had power but no authority to help him. He had cried out in pain, but no one ever considered him worthy of the image of God. He had been spat on, shouted on, and rejected many times because he was weak in their eye.

As the lame man continued to cry out on one beautiful morning, men with great light with power and authority appeared at the Beautiful gate of the temple. The lame man looked up and saw two men standing in front of him. One of them was Peter, and the other was John. Peter said to the man, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk!” And the man rose and walked. The bible said that his feet and ankle bones immediately received strength, and he began walking, leaping, and praising God.

1 Timothy 1:15 says, “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.”

I pray for you today; anything in your life that has not been working for your good, serving you well, or functioning for your benefit will encounter the power in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen. It is a powerful name, and we are called to use it with faith, love, and confidence. Peter and John proclaimed the Name of Jesus Christ at the beautiful gates and lifted the lame man from its ruin. They showed that the power in the name of Jesus Christ is greater than any evil in the world. The lame man would have been disabled for the rest of his life if it weren’t for the power in the name of Jesus Christ.

Some people might say that the power in the name of Jesus is nothing more than superstition. But those of us who believe in Him know there is real power in the name of Jesus. Many people worldwide are in bondage to sin, shame, hurt, fear, and other negative emotions and circumstances. But Jesus came to set us free! When we call on His Name, demons flee, captives are freed, and there is no other name higher than the name of Jesus. Therefore, call on the name of Jesus Christ, now. In John 6:35, Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”

Prayer:
1. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of life, and thank God for the gift of life wherever you are.
2. Oh Lord Jesus, I pray that you give me the strength to be strong in my faith and trust your name more than I have been able to before.
3. Oh, you power of shame, captivities, and fear in me, my family, ministry, and business be disgraced in Jesus’ name. Amen.
