The Power is in the Blood!

The Power is in the Blood!

“Whom God has set forth a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Romans 3.25

To some people, Mathematics is one of their favorite subjects in school. They love it because it is definite. It’s one of the absolute science humanity has ever discovered. In mathematics, you can be sure the formulas you know can never be changed even with society’s modernization or whatever new whims’ humankind has come to embrace.

Likewise, the gospel message we have believed. You can trust the efficacy of God’s word today and always. The scriptures affirm God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: has He said, and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken, and shall He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19). Hallelujah! He makes a good oath with all His promises. He does not lie.

Hebrews 6:18 says, “God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.”

So, this is the confidence the believer has in this life and the one to come. God has provided a way of escape. He has provided atonement (appeasement) in His Son. The New English Translation says God did it publicly. He did it with the promise of salvation for those who believe in Christ Jesus. He did it for you and me so that you might live in abundance life.

God showed His righteousness by making us righteous, forgiving our sins. In effect, His righteousness, which is best described as His loving-kindness and freely given grace, is made known and available in the blood of Jesus. He dealt with sins once and forever by the death and the resurrection of Jesus. He made us alive unto Himself after forgiving our sins. Paul reiterates the same truth in Colossians 2:13 that says, “When you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins.”

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for the blood. It is the blood of Jesus Christ that gives me life.
