The Transforming Power of Holiness!

The Transforming Power of Holiness!

“And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by renewing your mind that you may prove what is good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

Paul’s letter to the Romans is one of Scripture’s most important theological works. In it, he sets forth the case for Christianity as God’s universal plan of salvation. But in chapter 12, Paul doesn’t just argue for Christianity; he describes what it looks like to live a Christian life. In verses 1-2, Paul calls on Christians to be “living sacrifices” – to set themselves apart for God and His purposes.

He says that we are “transformed…by renewing our minds.” However, this transformation can only happen when we start thinking like Christ. When our minds are filled with His thoughts, we will start living holy lives. This isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it. As we surrender our lives to God, He begins to transform us from the inside out. This transformation results in holiness – living in a way that pleases and honors God.

2 Corinthians 7:1 says, “Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in fear of God.”

Remember, one of the major attributes of God is holiness, and Jesus Christ also exhibited this character throughout His ministry. The bible recorded that the devil came and could not find anything in Him to hold against Him. The devil tempted Jesus Christ three times and suggested many things to Him, but He didn’t consent. And throughout His life on earth, He was without any faults. As Christians, we also need to have this mind of holiness as found in Christ Jesus. Holiness means to be set apart or consecrated to God.

Holiness unto God is nondebatable; it is a command; “You shall be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). It is not possible for an unbeliever to be holy because the Scripture says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The only way to be holy is through the salvation offered by Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9). When we believe and confess Jesus Christ as our savior, He cleanses us from sin and makes us holy. Amen. 1 John1:7 says, ” But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” Amen.

Prayer:
1. Father Lord, I pray you to sanctify my heart and give me the grace to live a holy life in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. According to your word in Psalm 9:13, Lord Jesus, I ask you to be merciful to me and my household today in Jesus’ name.
