There’s a Miracle with Your Name on It! Part Four

There’s a Miracle with Your Name On It! Part Four.

“Get up and go to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 1 Kings 17:9

Miracles happen, and we can see this firsthand in the story of Jesus. He showed us that there is a miracle with our name on it, and we can experience this miracle when we put our trust in Him. But, of course, there are moments in life when everything seems to be falling apart. You feel like you’re at the end of your rope, and there’s no hope for things to get better. In those moments, it can be hard to believe that a miracle could happen. But as Christians, we know that miracles do happen.

Luke 4:25-27 contains an example of Jesus using metaphorical language to explain a spiritual concept of miracle and how it is specifically meant for individuals. In this passage, Jesus affirmed, indeed, there were many widows in Israel during Elijah’s time, when the heavens were closed for three and a half years and a terrible famine devastated the region. However, Elijah was specifically sent to a widow of Zarephath in Sidon. In other words, God specifically designed that miracle for the widow and her son. It means what God has for you has your name written on it.

Isaiah 55:8 says, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

Another part of the analogy was the story of Naaman. Leprosy is a dreaded disease that often results in disfigurement and social isolation. In the time of the prophet Elisha, many people in Israel had leprosy, but the only person healed was Naaman, a Syrian. This would have been an incredible miracle, given the intense stigma attached to leprosy, even though some have suggested that Naaman’s ethnicity may have played a role in his healing. On the other hand, it is possible that God chose to heal Naaman specifically as a sign of goodwill to Syria, given the tense political situation at the time.

Others have pointed out that Naaman was not healed because of his merit but because of his faith and willingness to obey Elisha’s instructions. No matter the reasons for Naaman’s healing, it is clear that this was an amazing miracle performed by God with Naaman’s name as proof of his faithful children worldwide. Therefore, your miracle with your name is coming soon, so don’t give up because Jesus is on your side. He will help you and lift you. You are not alone! Amen. Psalm 25:10 says, “All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.”

Prayer:
1. Lord Jesus, thank you for your steadfast love and faithfulness to me.
2. My God, I declare in faith: the spirit of favor, fall upon me and announce me for greatness.
3. Father, frustrate every trouble my adversaries are preparing to drag my family and me backward in Jesus’ name. Amen.
