There’s Power in Saying “NO”! Part Two

“Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.” Matthew 4:10

Your time is valuable. You know what you need to do to be successful and reach your goals, but there are only so many hours in a day. So how do you say “no” without feeling guilty? Start by knowing your priorities and what’s important to you. Turning down requests from friends, family, or co-workers can be tough, but if you cannot commit to something, it’s best to say “no” upfront. This way, there won’t be any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. You don’t have to feel guilty for putting your needs first.

Saying “no” can also be a way to assert yourself and your independence. It can show that you’re capable of making decisions and standing up for what you believe in. In the Bible, in the book of Matthew, chapter 4, verses 1-11, Jesus said “no” to Satan’s will. He turned down evil’s invitations to sin, demonstrating His power over temptation and evil. In doing so, Jesus showed us that resisting temptation and standing up against evil is possible. We can find strength in Him when we face difficult trials and decisions. When we say “no” to the devil, we are choosing to follow Christ instead.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

The devil is a distraction from what is truly important in life. We can avoid these distractions by saying “No” to the things that tempt us and focusing on what God wants us to do. When we do this, we can find true happiness and peace in our lives. Remember, Adam and Eve were distracted and tempted by the serpent because they did not have the boldness and audacity to say NO, but they disobeyed God’s commands, and their disobedience was punished.

Brethren, you can not be aligned with the will of God if you are still saying YES to the will of the devil and his angels. The devil wants you to believe that he has a plan for your life. But you have to say ‘No’ to his way, ‘No’ to his will, and ‘No’ to his heart’s desire for you. There is nothing more significant the devil has to give than to steal, kill, and destroy. Only through Jesus Christ can we genuinely live the abundant life that propagates new life. Amen. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” Amen.

Prayer:
1. You demon of destiny manipulation, I am not your candidate. Therefore, I say No to your will in Jesus’ name.
2. Galatians 5:1; LORD, according to Your Word, I enter into my season of breakthrough and freedom. I will struggle no more to enjoy abundant life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
