Time and Chance Happened to Them All.

I realized something under the sun, and in this world; the fastest runner doesn’t usually win the competition; the brave do not always win the battles. The wise do not always earn a living, intelligent people do not always get rich, and capable people do not always rise to high positions, but time and chance happened to them all. Ecclesiastes 9:11 Time and chance can be a blessing or a curse. It is what you make of it, and how you position yourself in life determines your future success or failure. This is your time to succeed and receive an answer to your prayer, in Jesus name. Amen.

In John 4: 1-42 is an excellent illustration to analyze the time and chance that happened to man or us wherever you go in life. Jesus never plans to meet this woman at the Well as he was passing through Samaria, neither did he sat at the side of the Well waiting for her. Plus He did not he had it in his mind that this woman will bring more people to the Kingdom of God. However, the Bible said that Jesus sat at the Well because he was WEARY.

Even the disciples didn’t go to the city so that they can buy meat so that Jesus can have a chance to talk the Samaria Woman at the well, but chance and time happened to them all. Also, the woman didn’t go to the Well to meet Jesus, but to draw water. Because she was so close to the gift of life which is Jesus, but almost miss that moment, that breakthrough and that lifetime opportunity, just because she was not aware of it. Jesus said in Verse 10 “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

Time and chances are far beyond what you can imagine; it’s far beyond any headlines and event that has ever been broadcast on television. It is beyond your control or even your imagination. However, any time you are presented with time, and chance, do not entertain lustful thought and procrastination, but instead live life as if it were a game of chance. You can expect to win, but don’t depend on it. Matthew Henry said, “We must use means, but not trust to them: if we succeed, we must give God the praise; if crossed, we must submit to his will.” Ecclesiastes 3:14 says, “I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor was anything taken from it. God has made it so that people fear before him.”
