Using Your Testimony! 2

“I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame.” Psalm 119:46

Gratefulness is an opportunity to acknowledge God and to share amazing stories with others. It is also a chance to show gratitude for what he has done in our lives. When we are thankful for something, we feel more grateful and less angry. God has unique ways for us to express gratitude.

The dramatic and miraculous story in the Gerasenes region where a man was possessed by a demon who had been cutting his flesh with stones was one of the most remarkable examples. It was a compelling story that showed how God used our testimony to show gratitude and help others. Although the man asked Jesus to be one of his disciples, Jesus refused, but instructed him to return home and “declare how much God has done for you.” Luke 8:26-39

1 Peter 3:15 says, “But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

The major areas to concentrate on in your life testimony are your life before you met Jesus, how you realized you needed Jesus, the difference Jesus made, and how you committed your life to Jesus. If you don’t have anything reasonable to say in the above four areas, your salvation needs general overhauling because there is always something to say.

God uses our testimonies as evidence for purposes. He uses our testimonies to show others that the faithfulness of God’s love is unconditional. He uses our testimonies to destabilize the enemies’ plan to align them with his plan. Our testimonies are a tool of God’s grace and power; therefore, use them wisely and use them well. We cannot live without the gospel, but only by living according to its purpose. Daniel 4:2 says, “I am pleased to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me.”

Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, help me to be obedient and faithful in all the great things you have done.
2. Hear my voice in this season in which I am called to do good works in Jesus’ name. Amen.
