What Do You See?

What Do You See?

“Do not be afraid,” Elisha answered, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 2 Kings 6:16

A mind that lost faith in God is a mind that becomes fainted under pressure and fear. Lose sight of God is like losing your mind. It is a state of mind that is so weak and hopeless, makes it almost impossible to find peace. When we lose faith in God, we become paralyzed by doubt and fear. However, until we regain our faith in God, we will never have the strength to stand and witness his power.

In today’s verse, Elisha helps us understand that the support or helpers of the heavenly realm are only seen by few people who have strong faith in God. Amid the storm, Elisha was able to see the celestial helper that is needed through faith, but his servant was not able to see anything but the problem. The man of faith remained calm amid the storm while the other was in a state of despair.

1 John 4:4 says, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Under similar Elisha and his servant’s circumstances, many people receive different impressions when they are overwhelmed with the same situation. The event that inspires someone to become a hero in life makes other people feel hopeless and helpless when facing the same thing, all because of faith. Brethren, what do you see in that situation? Do you see yourself as a victim or someone who has victory in Christ Jesus?

Until we begin to see what God wants us to see, we will never know how much power we have in Christ Jesus. Only through faith can we truly understand the true meaning of our salvation and the power of God’s love. Therefore, it is important to be able to see ourselves as Christ sees us and believe. 1 John 5:4 says, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.”

Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, help me to see the truth in your word every time I read it.
2. Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, I want to see you in all things in Jesus’ name. Amen!
