What is Your Choice? 2

“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.” Proverbs 14:12

Welcome back to today’s daily devotion. We are all called to be faithful stewards of the Holy Spirit through our actions and words. It is a great privilege to have such a wonderful opportunity for God’s grace to bless us with words of inspiration and guidance. This is a great time to take a leap of courage and start living your life on purpose, just as the stories of the four lepers in 2 Kings 7.

Our focus on this four-lepers story is to show how they survived because of their choice in life. These four men were left with three choices. Firstly, they were to “enter into the city”; what does the city offer them even if they get there? There was starvation and hunger throughout the land, and certainly, for them, they would die because they were lepers.

Galatians 5:17 says, “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.”

No one could have accepted them even if there were no famine in the land. Considering the famine, they would undoubtedly show no compassion for hungry lepers. There was commotion all across the land with several death cases, and there remains no hope for the lepers even if they should enter the city. They had no choice in this option, yet they still have to figure out how to survive.

It is a matter of choice because every decision you made today will affect tomorrow’s outcome of your life. Being faithful or unfaithful, rich or poor, fulfilling or unfulfilled, patience or impatience in life, courage or laziness in work, and so on, are mostly in the power of decision and action we take in our daily lives. We cannot be indifferent about what happens around us, yet we must make decisions that affect our lives. What decision are you making now? Proverbs 4:26 says, “Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.”

Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, help me to make the right choices every day.
2. Dear heavenly Father, I pray for daily guidance and direction, filled my heart with the unction of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. Amen.
