WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

“If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan?” Jeremiah 12:5-6

There is the need to have a more in-depth knowledge of whom a Christian is that will trigger us and also prepare us for a great homecoming. The preceding verses before 5 and 6 entail the question Jeremiah petitioned God. He was so heartbroken and discouraged as a result of the treachery of his relatives and neighbors.

However, God’s response to him stroke my heart, God was telling him that he should expect more persecution. He warned Jeremiah that the worse is yet to come. If his people rose against him, and he was complaining about it, then how would he be able to stand the whole nation would seek his demise. The same way our most trusted relatives have forsaken us in the time of need.

It made me understand why a Christian would ask God for a peaceful spouse, and God will answer some people with a troublesome spouse. When a Christian is petitioning God for a comfortable life, such will end up having a slippery ladder to scale through. Why? Because every situation in life has its challenges or level of examination. We have to face them to grow spiritually and become a better Christian.

A Christian would not only face persecution from the people they don’t know, but from the people, they have known from childhood. The essence of conflicting answers to prayers is to make us a perfected Christian. Ephesians 4:13-14 says, “until we all reach unity in the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”
