“Blessed are those who keep God’s testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart.” Psalm 119:2

In a time of need, it is necessary to seek God’s help and guidance, but nowadays, many people have lost the connection in their minds with pride that is prevalent in our society. We are constantly searching for help from people who cannot help, and we forget about God’s provision and His purpose for us. Then later, we start blaming others, even God, for our problems and failures.

Jehoshaphat used prayer, fasting, and praise in getting God’s help. He knew that to get this assistance from God, it was necessary to seek it; and to get such extraordinary help, they should seek it extraordinarily; when he proclaimed a universal fast, all the people came up to Jerusalem to seek the Lord’s help. Brethren, when last did you set time to pray, fast, and give God quality praise?

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

King Jehoshaphat knows every necessary step to seek the Lord’s face; even he did not just face God alone, he encouraged all the house of Judah to stand before the Lord. They did not do this with dirty hands or unclean hearts but with clean hearts. Seeking the Lord’s face in the situations we face is one thing; coming with a pure heart is another. What is the state of your heart in God’s presence?

We cannot continue in sin and say that the grace of God will continue to abound. When faced with problems, do not face the problems with pride, self-righteousness, or anger. Instead, face God with a humble heart, faith, love, and praise. You must be willing to walk with Him in every situation so that He can give you direction on what next to do. Acts 17:27 says, “God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.”

Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, I thank you for your help.
2. Psalm 119:10; As I seek you, Lord, let not my heart wander from your commandments or from the things which are pleasing to you.
3. May the Lord give you victory and peace over life’s trouble in Jesus’ name. Amen!
