Attention to Details.
“Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river’s brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.” Exodus 7:15
Attention to detail is highly coveted and recommended in any jobs, relationships, business, or any task or adventures. Attention to detail gives you a chance to avoid errors that lead to failures. Many relationships fail because some spouses are not paying attention to detail, and their loving relationship before, gradually begins to fall apart. Health issues become complicated when people ignore that little constant pain that was not part of them before. Lack of attention to detail can be a problem to career, family life, or even personal life.
American Diplomat, John Foster Dulles, said, “A man’s accomplishments in life are the cumulative effect of his attention to detail.” Every little thing that is crucial or essential makes big things happen in life. Whenever God gives an instruction, He expects total adherence to His words. God is not a profane person or a joker. No man should doubt in the dark what God says in the light.
God’s instruction to Moses was so detailed and straightforward when He told him to get to the river and use the rod, which turned into serpent earlier (Exodus 7:8-13) to smite the river. He didn’t just tell him to use any rod; God was so specific about the type of rod, about the time, place and even gave him the words to say. If Moses had assumed some other rods would do it, he might have failed. Or probably, He devised another strategy and did it in his own ways he wouldn’t have had such a real success.
If God instructs you to move to a point A at a particular time, do not compromise to move at the wrong time or to another point, probably because it looks better or nearer. In different past situations, I have seen that when God speaks or gives an instruction, He often shows how to do it as well. Never neglect the details, follow His instructions strictly. If you move at the wrong time or go to a different location, you may get unsatisfied because the exact result that God had planned for you might not be revealed.
When famine occurred in Egypt, God instructed Abraham to move away, and when such an occurrence happened in that same Egypt again, the instruction that was given to Isaac was to stay there. If Isaac had judged his decision based on his father’s movement, he might have failed. Our God doesn’t think the way we think, He is dynamic in works, and He expects us to be in line with His will. In John 15:14, Jesus said, “You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.”
Prayer:
1. Thank God for the Lord’s mercy for today and the devotion.
2. Help me to obey you, Lord, and I ask for clarity in your Word.
3. I prayed that God will uproot every spirit that makes you lose focus on what matters most in life and give you peace of mind in Jesus name. Amen.
