Avoid Decision Fatigue! Part Three
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6
We all face difficult decisions in life. What career should I pursue? Should I move to a new city? Is this the right relationship for me? Weighing the pros and cons of these choices can be overwhelming. It’s tempting to take matters into our own hands, but what if we’re not sure what the right decision is? Thankfully, we don’t have to make these decisions alone. God is always with us, and He wants to guide us to the best choice for our lives. In Jeremiah 29:11, God promises, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jesus Himself spoke about this principle when He said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the air birds; they do not sow, reap, or store away in barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? By worrying, who of you can add a single hour to his life?” (Matthew 6:25-27).
2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.”
Brethren, we are much valuable in God’s presence; therefore, allow Him to guide you in every decision because he has the best answer. No matter what we choose, God is in control and knows what is best for us. Trust Him to guide you in your decision-making. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus is our guide, and He will lead us to make the right decisions. We can be confident that when we follow Jesus, He will lead us down the path of righteousness.
How does God guide us? Sometimes He speaks directly to our hearts, telling us what we should do. Your spirituality in the word of God endowed you with Fruit of the Spirit, which ensures your durability and is well informed in life. That is why some people are not afraid to make decisions – God is with us every step of the way. He knows what’s best for us, and if we ask for His guidance, He will show us the way. So don’t hesitate – when you’re faced with a tough decision, pray for God’s help, and allow him to speak to your spiritual instinct. Then, you can rest assured that the Lord Himself is guiding you. Proverbs 1:5 says, “Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.”
Prayer:
1. Philippians 2:13 – Thank you, Jesus, for God works in me to will and work for his good pleasure.
2. Oh Lord, give me the ability to listen and understand when you speak in Jesus’ name. Amen.
