Be Different -2
“And when he had removed him (Saul), he raised David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David, the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.” Act 13:22
God looked at David and said you are the apple of my eye. You are different from others. Therefore, you will be the King of Israel because you are different from everyone else. Just like David, can God trust you to lead His people without a doubt and fear? If so, then you must be different from others.
David governed the people with the fear of God; he subdues the enemy as God commanded him; he worshiped God-like who cares. Do you know that God can still say the same thing about you as well when you continue to do the will of God as he commands? David has regard to the will of God in any circumstances of his life, either as a shepherd boy or as a king; as a sinner or saints.
David understood the importance of the grace of God in his life. He realized that he could not continue in sin and God to show him more and more of his wonderful grace. (Romans 6:1). He is willing to give up all his worldly pleasures for God’s sake. He doesn’t want to live with regret because he knows that it is better to live in God’s house than to live in a world of sin.
The psalmist thinks of being different, and He said: “Better is one day in the house of God than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.” However, today, people rather be a gold digger and take advantage of others. They don’t care about what other people think or say; they want to follow the crowd or whatever their evil heart desires.
I encourage you today, do not be part of the wicked world because God has many good things to say about you and let the grace continue to flow. However, you have to make up your mind to follow Christ and have the mind of Christ. You have to be different for God to testify good things about you. Jesus said, “You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friend, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:14-15
