CHRIST AMBASSADORS!
Only let your conversation be as it becomes the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. Philippians 1:27
An ambassador is meant to represent His country’s culture, not his own belief. He doesn’t take-up or gets influenced by the culture of the country he is being sent to. He doesn’t forget his mission and objective in his destination. In a nutshell, he is fully guided by the information and power he has from his county. And as Christ ambassadors, we should not forget our true identity in Christ. Our true nature, which is of the kingdom of God, should never be exchanged for the things of this world.
In as much as we are true Christians, we are Christ’s representative here on earth. Jesus has finished His ministration here on earth, He is in heaven with the Father, but He has people who are to show what He looks like now. He is the Son of God who has been given to reproduce more sons. And if we are indeed His son, we should carry His DNA; His looks should be found on us, our attitude and character should reveal Christ and His mind should be in us (Phil 2:5).
Paul’s words in today’s verse are a call to ethical conduct. He pronounced that they should stand fast in spirit; the words of their mouth should be of the gospel of Christ, that when he returns, he may found them active in the spirit. What about you? When Jesus returns, will He find His DNA in you? We must exhibit Godly virtues as the ambassadors of Christ so that when He returns, He will find us worthy of His Glory.
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; Philippians 3:20
Prayer:
1. Thank you. Oh! Lord, for your mercy and grace over my life.
2. Help me, Lord, to live my life according to your will.
3. Oh! Lord, I want to be where you are. In Jesus’ name.
