“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear is one of the most powerful weapons in this life. It can be used to make you feel like a failure, or it can be used as a weapon to dictate your life, and you do not have enough time to accomplish your goals. It’s not always easy to overcome fear. But if you don’t allow fear, you will achieve your goals and find success. Remember, Jesus is not the author of horror, but a master of peace giver. In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.” Because with fear, you cannot please God. Fear is a powerful tool that can cause you to lose your focus on what you really want. Do not allow it.
If you invest in fear, you profit from the timid or cowardly nature, because you cannot expect to have positive results from negative investment. Dorothy Thompson said, “Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.” In other word, when you don’t invest in fear, you will start to see the opportunities of life. Any step you take out of fear has a little or no tendency of yielding a good result. There was a story of a young boy called John, as a young boy in the neighborhood was sharing his experience with people. He said, when he was in high school, the school administration came up with a rigorous and rigid policy on student’s promotion at that time. Even though it has been just a little increase in the expected percentage, it moved him; the spread of the news on campus went round with fear in the heart of the pupils including him. Considering his past performance, he knew he could meet up with the school’s requirement, but the fear of failing the exam gripped him. The exam eventually came; he wrote it and was unable to meet the demand for promotion. (Anything that wants to stop your advancement in this season will be consumed by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name). It has been just an approximate that would make him fulfill the expectation.
That is what fear can do. I command every spirit of fear activating failure in your life, be burned by fire in Jesus name. Fear can trigger failure; fear can hold people captive; fear can cause them to lose their faith in God or others, and it can sabotage promotion. It can also lead to a person losing hope in life. Therefore, I encourage you, do not allow it to control your mind. It’s fully capable of bringing you down. It makes you see yourself as mediocre. Why fear if you believe you can do it? Why fear when you have God bigger than your problem. There are times God will show us a great idea to invest in, but fear of failing and losing won’t allow the manifestation of such an idea. The devil you are afraid of had been defeated a long time ago. Do not allow the enemy to deceive you with a fear that doesn’t exist. Fill your heart with God’s word and bring the strongholds of fear down in your life. “For you have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of divine adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15
