Don’t Murmur nor Grumble.
“Do all things without murmurings and disputing.” Philippians 2:14
In the act of complaining or grumbling, you are expressing discontentment at your circumstances or even at God’s grace. You complain because you have the wrong impression about something that is happening to you or how things supposed to work out in your way. However, you forgot that God’s way is not the same as yours because he has a different way of doing things.
God is exceedingly capable of providing all of our needs; He is impeccable in all His doing and ways. He knows what is best for each one, and He attends to us as our father. We all know about God, but our actions, when faced with little pressure or challenge at times, doesn’t portray our totally believe in God.
God mightily delivered Israel from Egypt; He showed many signs before Pharaoh could discharge them. He wonderfully parted the sea when there was no way for them, then wiped their enemies with the sea. In a nutshell, God indeed demonstrated His mightiness to the Israelite. Then, in a short while, there was a pressing need, Israelite began to murmur and grumble instead of seeking His face sincerely for help. They quickly forgot His mighty ability.
Maybe you have forgotten God’s ability just like the children of Israelite did when they lack little things or meet some specific needs in life. I want to encourage you as 1 Corinthians 10:10 said: “do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel.”
Perseverance and endurance are vital requirements for being successful and significant in life. Many people had failed because they couldn’t endure at certain stages of their life; they complain, murmur, and grumble instead of seeking directions to their life. Also, at times, it’s merely a lack of contentment that makes people grumble.
Grumbling does no good, and it doesn’t have a pleasant place for you, instead cause depression, irritation, increase dissatisfaction, creates crisis and sin against God. Complaining is like a poison that can kill you if you don’t stop it. It will not help you to live a happy life. The only way to get rid of this poisonous poison is through prayer, a meditation on the word of God and be thankful in every situation.
There is nothing more important than being grateful for what you have and know your God. You might not have it all now, but you have a God that has it all in him. He has everything you need, so why should you complain? Do not make yourself miserable by complaining about your problems. Instead, start with gratitude and ask God for his blessings in your life.
To live a peaceful and happy life, the Bible said, “Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not extinguish the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt, but test all things. Hold fast to what is right. Abstain from every form of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22.
Prayer:
1. Thank the Lord for his blessings. He has given us many wonderful gifts to do things in life.
2. Lord, give me the grace to continue without grumbling.
3. Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith in you, oh Lord Almighty.
