Empowered by His Authority! 2
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.” John 6:38
There are some principles that guide everything in this life, but some have turned it and made it seem miserable. Many have forgotten the authority in God and become a slave to the power of humankind. We depend on science and technology that we forget that all power still belongs to God.
The scientific method is good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not enough to fix and improve the broken world without God even though our worldly government has made us believe that there is no need for God’s authority on earth, but we must be careful to keep ourselves from doing things which will lead to destruction.
Psalm 20:7 says, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”
We must always trust God with everything and nurtured divine authority with respect. In today’s verse, Jesus pointed out that He was a man under the authority of God who had given him power over all things. In this case, it is about obedience to God’s will and respecting God’s authority in faith without any fear or doubt. The question is, do you acknowledged the authority of God, or do you opted out as the masses did?
Perhaps as a child of God, you have the right to do the will of God and nurtured the healthy authority of Christ in you by obeying his commands. When you are obeying God’s commands, that means you acknowledge the authority of God. You obey because you believe in Him and the Kingdom of heaven has the responsibility to take care of your needs. Proverbs 27:18 says, “Whoever tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who looks after his master will be honored.”
Prayer:
1. Thank you, Jesus, for all the blessings of life.
2. Holy Spirit, guide me when I am lost to honor God. Please help me to know my purpose and direction in life in Jesus’ name. Amen
