Simon Peter asked him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus replied, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.” John 13:36.
Following the master is a way of life that you can live without fear. It’s a way of living that allows you to live freely and without judgment while cultivating a better relationship. One of the few biblical illustrations that opened the mind of a man to who he is now with God is the sheep and shepherd relationship. This relationship is one that demonstrates the extent to which man should depend on God. This dependence begins with going out in the morning and how the man strives for what life should be for him on the earth. A message God spoke to the heart of a wise man so many years ago keeps ringing to us all, that planning is man’s responsibility while it is of God to give answers to the request of man. The Lord has given us the ability to plan our lives according to his will.
The whining of sheep has a way it calls the shepherd to its need. Likewise, in John chapter 10, Jesus made us know that every sheep knows the voice of their shepherd, and this help to strengthen their relationship in which the sheep chooses who to follow in all circumstances. As a sheep following the shepherd, we must be assured like David was that he is leading us to green pasture and beside the still waters. Not just that, He has even gone to prepare a place for us. That is who He is, a shepherd who goes before His own to prepare a space for them, a house for them, comfort, and all good things for them. Go in this might and face today assured that He has gone ahead of you. In John 12:26, Jesus said: “If any man serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serves me, he will make honor by my Father.”
1. Lord, thank you for going before me into this new day. Holy Spirit.
2. Pray as you are leads by the Spirit
3. In the name of Jesus, I align with what you have done for me and what you are bringing my way.
