Forgiving Spirit!
“Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive them, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25
Did Jesus mean what He said about forgiving others? Yes. But do all humans have a habit of praying with a forgiving spirit? No. Only after some people have experienced God’s delay and forgiveness can they pray with a forgiving spirit. Humankind can never give what they don’t have, so it is important that we experience and understand God’s forgiveness in our lives and then show it to others.
Only by the Holy Spirit’s power is it possible to pray with a forgiving spirit. In our strength, we cannot. Do you agree? As you open your heart to God, He will bless you with grace and forgiveness in Jesus’ name. Until God overwhelmed you by His grace, then you can forgive others even though it hurts.
Matthew 26:28 says, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
I can choose to forgive anyone who offends me because I have experienced the grace of God’s forgiveness in my own life. Praying with a forgiving spirit is like lying beside the still waters that restore our soul to its rightful place. It humbles you and opens up your heart to God’s mercy.
Therefore, I encourage you to always pray with a forgiving spirit. Don’t struggle with offenses that are so bad sometimes that you find it hard to forgive. God’s answer for you is the same. Open your heart to God’s grace and forgiveness and be overwhelmed; choose to forgive even when it hurts. Please forgive regardless of how you feel because God has forgiven you. Yes, Lord. . Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Prayer:
1. Father, with every offense, help me choose to forgive because You said, “Forgive.” Then I can pray effectively
2. Matthew 6:12: Oh Lord, forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors in Jesus’ name. Amen.
