“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1.
Nowadays, people have been trapped in different thought and doubt about their worth and value. They are stuck with many ideas and conform to what society says or think about them. Orlando Patterson said, “freedom can or cannot exist within the state of liberty; one can be liberated yet unfree, or free yet enslaved.” In other word, you can gain the ability to live your life freely with many restrictions. Do not acquire the whole world to enslave your soul.
Freedom can only exist within the state of grace. If you want to live freely, you must first become free. Freedom is not something that you can get from outside sources. The only way to obtain it is through faith in Jesus Christ. John 8:36 says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Freedom becomes the state of mind when Christ is in you.
Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5. Jesus set you free so that you can fulfill your calling.
Freedom in Christ is nothing but an opportunity to be better; to enjoy victory; enjoy a breakthrough; claim back the original plan of God which is to have power and dominion on the good things that God created. However, you must stand firm and stay away from sin because it is a yoke of slavery. Anything that enslaves you will surely take advantage of you or exploit you. Therefore, stand firm in the faith, because the son of God has set you free, and you shall be free indeed. Amen
