God is Light!
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5
John’s explanation of God here is clearly and painted. He has a divine understanding of who God is, and he could boldly say that “God is light.” It only takes a man who has seen a particular thing to give a clear description of such a thing without adding a modal verb. John was not just telling us who God is, but he also gave a clear explanation of God in his book.
He further expressed his understanding of God, “in Him is no darkness at all.” This is John’s description of God and who God is to him. However, this description implies that God is pure and full of light, and no other painting or opposite act is found in Him. Generally, every evil thing is usually link to dark, while light symbolizes holiness, righteousness, purity, and every other positive character.
All this description described the hope and assurance that we have in God, that as we come to him and trust with the whole of our heart, our life will be full of his light to the end. There’s no darkness in Him, so there can never be regret for following Him. No matter how difficult it might look, once God appears, the light comes. He is the solution to every problem and challenge of our life.
God’s light is the answer to every question we might have been seeking a response. Therefore, take great advantage to journey with the light, because life is a journey. His light will not just help us see the way, but it will give us the best direction to life. Tread your path with God’s light that never undulates or fades. 1 Timothy 6:16 says, “He alone is immortal; he lives in the light that no one can approach. No one has ever seen him; no one can ever see him. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen.”
Prayer:
1. Lord, shine your light on me and let it be a guard to my path. Transform me with your light so that I will never live in darkness.
2. My God, help me walk in the light of your love, for you are my guide, and I am yours.
