God of Abraham! 2
“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.” Psalm 3:3
When God appeared to Abraham, He became the lifter up of His head. God was with him, blessed him, and said, Blessed, be Abram of the highest God, possessor of heaven and earth (Genesis 14:19). God of Abraham describes a God who never forgets humankind who had to follow His will and instructions without looking back.
However, when the journey with God started by Abraham, God promised him much possession, which I can describe as the earth itself. But Abraham was barren to the extent that everyone knew about his barrenness, and slaves were seen as his heir. Abraham cannot do anything to his condition other than keeping up with God’s plans and purposes for the future generation. When his situation wasn’t changing, Abraham remained with God, proving his faithfulness to the Lord who had called him out of his father’s house.
Psalm 5:12 says, “For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous with favor, and you will surround them as a shield.”
The key to Abraham’s blessing is faithfulness! Have you been faithful to yourself, God, and the people around you? God never forgot the faithful ones, and that is why you and I need to keep this to mind and memory that God is never unchanging, and He never forgets the reward for following Him. Faithfulness is extremely necessary for all stewards. Proverbs 28:20 says, “A faithful person will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”
Abraham lived faithfully and trusted God for all. This was possible for them because they knew God gave them all they had, and for them to get more, they had to be faithful. Faithfulness is a key requirement if we desire to have our full inheritance. We need to pay attention to everything in our lives, never say it’s very small. Or don’t attach being faithful with money alone, even money is good, but it cannot solve the whole thing. Everything we have is worthy of being used efficiently, even our time. Until we can be faithful with God’s properties, He won’t hand over our true life to us in His kingdom. 1 Corinthians 4:2 says, “It is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.”
Prayer:
1. Help me to be faithful with you, Lord.
2. Holy Spirit, help me in my journey to walk with God in Jesus’ name.
