God of Abraham! 3
“Our God is a God of deliverance; the Lord GOD is our rescuer from death.” Psalm 68:20
The God of Abraham speaks of a God who can turn the lost situations around. But, of course, you might have read it somewhere else that the God who created heaven and the earth is not a God of deliverance but rather implacable, more to be feared in the world than he is to be loved. I will tell you that this is not true. God’s love for us is tender and sweet. His mercy is new every morning as we wake up every day. He is our rock, our fortress, and our deliverer who give strength to the weak in the face of adversity. Our God who saves!
Faith in God will help you rise against every discouragement, every obstacle, and enemy. Your faith will make you strong and courageous; your hope in God will keep you from falling into despair. Abraham’s faith in God gives him the courage to pursue the enemy when his nephew’s home and the band were invaded, and all their goods and women were taken captive. The “convent keeping God” in him helped him go after the invaders, recover all the stolen goods, and rescues people. This speaks so much of the power of recovery without missing a dime in God.
“For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8
Everything God does is always amazing and wonderful. He never fails to keep his promises and turn the ugly situation around in our lives. God of Abraham gave Abraham a son of His own when he was one hundred years old through Sarah, the wife who was ninety years old, meaning God can turn barrenness to fruitfulness. My God can turn darkness into light, insufficient to sufficient to satisfy all desires. Philippians 4:19 says, “my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Brethren, Today, as you go out, look out for the stolen goods, for there shall be a recovery, a total recovery. Not just that, your barrenness is over, for there shall be fruits and abundance of it because the God of Abraham is so much alive. Remember, there are no hopeless situations or unsurmountable obstacles that God cannot turn around for your good when you have faith in Him. He is always ready to help you turn your loss into gain because his grace is sufficient for us, and “strength is made perfect in weakness.” “So that your faith would not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1 Corinthians 2:5
Prayer
1. I am not hopeless. I recover all that has been taken from me, and my barren land is fruitful because I serve the God of Abraham.
2. Galatians 5:22-23; Oh Lord, bless me with the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in Jesus’ name. Amen
