God’s Voice!
“Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.” 1 Samuel 3:10
It is factual that contemporary Christians give little or no attention to God’s voice. How I great wish emphasis could be placed on this, even while raising our children. Samuel was just a young boy who couldn’t decipher God’s voice until Eli had to enlighten him.
Learning to discern God’s voice early in life gives our life a rapid shape because, in His voice, we find life directions. God is at all-time ready to speak to us. He speaks at all time, but how can we say He speaks when we can’t hear His voice. You don’t need a unique device or a special time to hear Him. Anyone who can’t hear God’s voice either believes God doesn’t speak or is not sensitive to His voice.
Jesus said, “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me. John 5:30
You have to be spiritual and be very sensitive while hearing because there are many voices (There are many languages in the world, and every language has meaning. 1 Corinthians 14:10). Note that every voice that speaks contrary to the word of God is not of God.
Nevertheless, the devil, too, can deceitfully use the word of God to speak to you. That’s why you have to diligently learn the word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth. Don’t wait until you urgently need directions before you seek God’s voice; he earnestly desires that you hear Him daily. There’s a lot He has to tell you about your life today but do you care to hear His voice? Psalm 85:8 says, “I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants — but let them not turn to folly.”
Prayer:
1. God, I’m ready to be guided and be led by your voice. Speak to me, Lord.
2. Oh Lord, give me ears and a heart that tunes to the sound of your voice in Jesus’ name.
