Good Drink, End the Thirst!
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. John 7:37
The person who always has access to the source of water can not understand what it means to be thirsty. When God created man, He placed within us a dependence capacity such that when some feeling come to us, we know the step to take away the feelings naturally. Feelings are abstract, personal, and it takes a man who has been there to relate well with what we are passing through. One of the many inherent feelings that human have is the feeling called thirst and hunger.
It isn’t something we learned when we were born, right from the moment we stepped out of the womb; we have cravings for milk, a liquid that can quench hunger and thirst we were born with and we gradually substituted it for water and different food. What happens to a person that doesn’t drink or eat for days, you can testify that such a person will not just lack adequate strength and vitality, but through the absence of this basic life sustenance, disease and death is inevitable. So it is with the walk of every man in the spirit.
We have a similar system in the spirit that longs and thirsts to be fed with what comes from above. We should not quench this hunger and thirst because it is the evidence that we are still living in the spirit. Ravi Zacharias said, “No matter how much we try to run away from this thirst for the answer to life, for the meaning of life, the intensity only gets stronger and stronger. We cannot escape these spiritual hungers.”
Quenched the thirst of the souls cost nothing, it’s free. Isaiah 55:1 says, “Come, all of you who thirst, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come; buy wine and milk, without money and without cost!”
As God invites you to come, believe me, or not, you will not be disappointed when you answered the call. Accepted the invitation, put your trust in him first with a faith that never ceases to grow. The Lord has called you to walk in obedience to him, and he will lead you to fulfilled destiny in Christ.
This is the way of life for all believers, and it is the way of living out our faith in Christ. When you taste the spiritual food and drink, you will forever want to be feeding on the source. Get thirsty the more for the living water, it quenches and makes alive more than you can imagine. Jesus always gives the best drink that end thirst. That’s why He said in John 4:14 that “whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”
Prayer
- Give thanks and prays over today’s Word as lead by the spirit now.
- Lord, keep me hungry and thirsty for your divine provision.
- In the name of Jesus, Heaven of Mercy, I declare you open and release the rain of favor to quench the thirst of needs.
- Whatever you are looking for, ASK God for it, NOW.
