Heart of Worship!
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth.” John 4:24
A believer doesn’t have to worship God out of the jurisdiction of the Holy Spirit. Your worship can be structured or unstructured, but let it be based on the love and compassion you have for God. It’s sad to note that God’s heart is not touched by tradition in worship, but by passion and commitment. The reason is that we have accrued the validation of our worship to ourselves, which is supposed to be to God alone.
We are called a believer to worship God “in spirit and truth.” (john 4:24). In other words, it is not by philosophies or dogmas that comes from tradition, but rather by the love and devotion of God. If we decide to worship God in a specific structure of a building, it is okay, because it helps us to be part of the body of Christ. However, don’t limit God by that means of logic or religion. Instead, we should worship God, anywhere with all our hearts and minds.
Psalm 145:18, “The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth.”
Worship God anywhere and anytime you feel like, or you don’t feel like, but in Spirit and truth. Our worship is not for our benefit; we worship for God’s benefit. When we worship God, we worship to glorify His name. Every moment of worship should bring a new leading that testifies to God’s glory. It should be a time of celebration, joy, and peace. We should be filled with love and gratitude for God’s presence.
Therefore, today, I encourage you to amend the state of your mind. Understand what true worship is. Worship is not for your benefit, it’s for God. You don’t need the approval of anyone to please God. Humans’ validation is not God’s acceptance, including yours. Worship in Spirit and truth, and let God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit acknowledge your worship. Amen. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
Prayer:
1. Lord, help me to worship you in Spirit and truth always in Jesus’ name.
2. Psalm 119:2; “Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, and seek Him with all their heart.”
