Interior Knowledge of God!

“I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.” Job 42:5

What we need as a believer to go beyond the hearsay knowledge of God is the interior knowledge of God. In other words, we must experience him personally, which goes beyond listening to sermons or reading devotions. Because most often, the true depth knowledge of God comes through our personal experiences and not through the outside world. You will understand that God exists through this, and He is real in your life. When you can experience God’s presence, you will be able to see his love for you and how much he loves you.

Recently, I heard a young university graduate share an emotional testimony of his life-altering experience. During his college years, the student participated in a lifestyle of selfish indulgence involving drugs, alcohol, and wild living. However, his conversion resulted in a miraculous change in attitude, desires, and values when he moved closer to God without deception. He no longer was a “smart know-it-all” but manifested an attitude of humility and a willingness to listen to God and know Him intimately. He was able to experience such because he had come to know God in a personal relationship.

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Job, an upright and God-fearing man, also had a life-altering experience with God. Out of his experience with suffering, loss, and questioning God, Job repented of his distrust of God and acknowledged God’s greatness, power, and wisdom. When Job ran out of questions, he was ready to listen humbly to God. After all, he went through; he had a personal revelation of who God is, which left a visible mark in Job’s life.

Brethren, there is an amazing difference to experience God rather than only knowing about Him. Experiencing God brings us to a lifelong process of learning Him, becoming so intimately acquainted with Him that we joyfully yield our lives to Him because we have come to know Him and trust Him completely. May each of us be grateful for the constant presence of God and be ready to experience Him in life-changing ways. Remember, what you are experiencing now about God is just a mere part of the whole picture of God, but when you move closer to God, you will see how much more he will reveal to you. Job 26:14 says, “Indeed, these are, but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?”

Prayer:
1. Oh! Lord, I thank you for your steadfast love and eternal salvation. I am thankful for the blessings of your grace.
2. Father, help me repent of any selfish pride and seek Your presence daily humbly.
3. Oh! Lord, I want to be where you are; help me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
