“So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:5
Don’t settle for a second-hand relationship with God. Don’t rely solely on what others say or believe about Him. Take the time and effort to know God for yourself. Dive into His Word, explore His teachings, and experience Him in your own life. In Jeremiah 29:11-13, God promises that He has great plans for you, plans to prosper you and give you hope. But to truly understand and receive these blessings, you must seek Him wholeheartedly. It’s not enough to have an intellectual knowledge of who God is; it’s about building a personal relationship with Him.
Jesus himself said in John 14:21 that those who love Him are the ones who will be loved by God the Father. And through this love, Jesus promises He will reveal Himself to them. This reveals the importance of actively loving and obeying God as a key component of deepening our relationship with Him. So, don’t be satisfied with generic statements about God’s character or distant tales of His greatness. Seek Him earnestly, spend time in prayer and meditation, open your heart to hear His voice, and observe how He works in your life.
Hebrews 4:2 says, “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”
Knowing God for yourself makes your faith more vibrant and authentic. You’ll find comfort and strength in knowing He is intimately involved in every aspect of your existence. Trusting in Him completely allows you to confidently navigate life’s challenges because you have a personal connection with the Almighty. Don’t let anyone or anything hinder you from pursuing an intimate relationship with God. Be persistent in seeking Him, dedicating time each day to deepen your understanding of His ways.
God rewards those who diligently seek Him; through this consistent seeking, we can grow closer to Him and gain a deeper understanding of His ways. Dedicating time each day to delve into the scriptures, pray, and reflect on His teachings allows us to develop a stronger spiritual connection. Setting aside a specific time for God may seem challenging in our busy lives filled with numerous distractions. However, prioritizing it shows our commitment and desire to know Him more intimately. Amen. Romans 10:17 says, “Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Amen.
Prayer for Today,
Oh Lord, give me a kingdom-minded to deeply connect with you, to seek your will above all else. Grant me a heart that beats in rhythm with your desires and a mind that is focused on furthering your kingdom here on earth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
