Labor with Holy Love!
“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10
Keep on laboring upon the rock, with your resources, time, money, love, and patience. Every son and daughter of God has been called into the father’s vineyard, and the foundation is Jesus Christ because it is written in the scriptures that he is the chief headstone of the new covenant. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
If we agreed that our foundation is Jesus Christ, then what are we building on it. Are you building gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, grass, and so on? Or are you building a house built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ for fun? Because anything things we are building on Christ must be for His purpose. When we know that purpose, we would be quickened to labor in love and not just grudgingly. Our reward from work shall never go unrewarded.
Proverbs 14:31 says, “Whoever oppresses the poor insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.”
Laboring with love based on the foundation of Jesus Christ gives the assurances that God will work in us and keep us in perfect peace without fear of evil. It helps us stay focused on fellowship with Jesus Christ. That’s why Christ gave us this assurance in Mathew 7: 24-25 that, “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because its foundation was on the rock.”
That means we should be careful what we build on this rock or the foundation Christ laid for us because the examiner of our faith will checkmark everything by fire to see if everything we build will stand the test of time. That day signifies the day of trial, Judgement, and persecution where the righteous shall be separated from the unrighteous ones. So, whatever we do in life, we must do it with faithfulness and love of God in mind. May the Lord grant you an unspeakable blessing as you yield to his word. Amen
Prayer:
1. Lord, I thank you for your steadfast love and mercy.
2. Help me, Lord, not to labor in vain in anything I do.
3. Psalm 92:13 Oh Lord my God, I take root in your house, help me do well, flourish and prosper in Jesus’ name. Amen
